Papertrey Ink - Make it Monday: vellum overlay

This week's Make it Monday over at Papertrey Ink is all about vellum overlays.  I made a super simple card using some vellum and my new stamp sets ...
The fabulous Danielle Flanders made a great video all about this technique.  Here is my humble contribution to the linkup:
I used Vintage Cream ink with the Wet Paint stamp set on the vellum and the Ombre Builder on the Kraft card base.
Super simple but the perfect fit for the recipient! :)

AEI♥U Challenge #10–Gold! #2

I just love this AEIU challenge which is all about gold ... yum!  I recently got this gorgeous sentiment set from Avery Elle called Oh Happy Day.  I just love the font used.  I stamped it in VersaMark over top of a Fresh Ink Provincial Gray woodgrain stamped background from Heidi Swapp.
I added some Zing Gold Glitter embossing powder and added the flower and leaves from the same sentiment set.  Hard to capture the gold embossing but here's a closeup nonetheless:

AEI♥U Challenge #10–Gold! #1

The AEIU challenge is all about gold and I thought I would use this sentiment stamp I have from them with some ikat designs.
I repeatedly stamped one of the ikat designs using some Versamark and then heat embossed using Zing Gold Glitter embossing powder - this stuff is so fun and blingy!
I added a simple sentiment from Oh Happy Day using my go to black ink - Versafine Onyx Black.  It does such a good job of a true black with impeccable coverage.
Here you can see some of the shine and bling from this embossing powder ... I like the look of it on a Kraft card base ...

What a fun challenge! :-) So glad to take part ...

Ombre Builder + Fabulous Block Die + sequins = a shaker card

I was so excited to try out my new release products and got right to it.  I took the Ombre Builder set and stamped it repeatedly using Fresh inks (sicilian blue, steel blue, sky blue, turquoise, pool and navy) slightly overlapping them.  I then cut the Fabulous Block die and used some thick white cardstock (110lb Recollections).
I decided I wanted to make a shaker card so cut the block die using some white foam and then cut out the inside with an Xacto knife.  I added some clear acetate and used my faithful Tombo Mono Multi glue trapping some cupped irridescent and flat silver sequins.  I just love shaker cards!
Have you made any shaker cards lately?  Please feel free to share your creations ...

PTI Make it Monday: Debossing Stamped Messages

This week, over at Papertrey Ink, it's all about debossed stamped images.  I made two cards using this method.  The first one is for a forum friend, Karen, who has gone through a tough time lately.  I wanted to make her a card to let her know we are thinking about her ...
I stamped and debossed the butterflies from Happy Trail and then added vellum die cuts and used my Wink of Stella pen for some shimmer.  I stamped a sentiment from Lovely Layers and that's it!
Here you can see some of the shimmer and then Colorbox Frost White stamped images below, debossed.
I added a white panel to the inside of the card to write a message.  Karen, hope you like it!  Know we are all cheering you on! <3 a="" and="" are="" board="" check="" e="" for="" gorgeous="" grateful="" href="http://karensrainbowgarden.blogspot.ca/2014/06/catching-up-card.html" lease="" minute="" nbsp="" on="" out="" positive="" presence="" spirit="" take="" target="_blank" the="" to="" work="" your="">her latest stunning card
... I just love it!
My second take on this challenge used the Hello die and stamp:
The stamp turns out to be larger than the die but I went with it anyhow ... :)
Sentiment from Little Bitty Bird as well as the felt die cut.

Well, that's it ... hope you had fun with this challenge; I know I did! :)
